HomeCase StudiesNew Isuzu N35.125 (T) Dropside for Main Line Timber

Isuzu N35.125 (T) Dropside Truck joins fleet at Main Line Timber

Since first opening in 1991, Main Line Timber has become a well-established timber merchant in the Midlands. They specialise in the supply of wooden fence panels, standard and bespoke gates, decking, concrete products, sleepers and garden trellis.

Edward Gascoigne, the founder and managing director of Main Line Timber said, “We deliver timber products of all sizes and lengths, so it is essential that we have vehicles that can carry the volume and capacity we require”.

At Main Line Timber, vehicles typically run for 4-5 years on the fleet and the Isuzu brand has dominated the fleet for many years. In 2021, Edward approached Jim McNeil, sales executive at RH Commercial Vehicles (RHCV), looking for additional assistance with the purchasing of new trucks for Main Line Timber.

Edward said “Our vehicles range from 3.5 to 7.5 tonnes trucks and are used five and a half days a week so the vehicles are put through their paces and really stand the test of time. Therefore, using a reliable and cost-effective brand like Isuzu is important for us, in order for the trucks to perform well”.

Main line timber’s most popular vehicle is the Isuzu N35.125(T) 6d Dropside or “Grafter.” With a GVW of 3,500 Kg and a Dropside trailer, this truck is a true performer, even in demanding environments.

Edward also stated: “A high number of our deliveries are handballed off the trucks, as well as some being unloaded with forklifts, so having the dropside body allows for easy access, making loading and unloading more efficient.

“Our new trucks are automatic aiding with driving, in particular manoeuvring creating a smooth drive.

The “grafter” is supplied with a range of supporting features including a three-year unlimited mileage warranty (as standard with Isuzu Trucks), roadside assistance, a three-year warranty on bodywork components and a twelve-month unlimited warranty on all paintwork from the date of registration.

Overall, Edward was very happy with the quality of the vehicles and service provided by RHCV over the last couple of years. He said, “Jim has been very helpful and attentive throughout and any problems have been resolved very quickly. I have no doubt I will be returning to RH Commercial Vehicles in the future.”
