Nottinghamshire scaffolding specialist, Empire Scaffolding invests in 13 Renault Trucks to support national growth.

Empire Scaffolding, a leading scaffolding company based in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire, has expanded its fleet with the addition of 13 new Renault Trucks, enhancing its operational capabilities across the UK. This investment includes four 12 tonne D12 Dropside trucks and nine D18 Dropside trucks, secured on a contract hire basis through RH Commercial Vehicles, with the deal arranged by Rental Sales Executive Tony Nuttall.

Established in 2000, the company specialises in the supply, erection and dismantling of scaffolding for both commercial and domestic projects. Operating primarily across the Midlands, the business also undertakes larger projects nationwide.

The decision to upgrade the fleet was influenced by a desire to project a more professional image while addressing the practical demands of scaffold transportation. The new Renault Trucks offer the payload capacity and manoeuvrability crucial for efficient distribution of materials to various job sites.

Claire Kelliher, managing director of Empire Scaffolding said: “We opted for the Renault D12 and D18 models to ensure we can access a range of different locations. Some places have tight access so having two truck sizes gives us the flexibility we need.”

Empire chose contract hire for its flexibility and all-inclusive benefits. From maintenance and servicing to roadside support, the package ensures reduced downtime and increased reliability across the fleet.

“The trucks will help us improve productivity both on-site and during transit. With fewer breakdowns and better efficiency, we can stay focused on delivering for our clients.” Claire added.

Key features such as chassis adaptability, turning radius, and strong urban drivability make the trucks especially well suited to the challenges of scaffolding logistics. Empire expects the advanced technology and improved comfort to enhance the day to day operations.

Environmental performance also played a significant role in the decision. With increasing focus on emissions regulations and urban compliance, the new Renault Trucks are on the horizon. “If these vehicles continue to perform well and meet our expectations, we’ll definitely consider expanding our Renault fleet”, Claire said.

The new fleet was supplied by RH Commercial Vehicles, with Tony Nuttall, Rental Sales Executive, playing a key role in guiding the company through the selection and contract hire process.
