  1. RHCV Boost Sales Team to keep East Mids Trucking

RH Commercial Vehicles (RHCV) is investing in business development by boosting its sales department, with new members of staff.

The company now has its largest ever sales team, since it became independent in 2012.  With the economy picking up RHCV is looking forward to increased sales of Renault Trucks latest Euro 6 models including the award-winning Renault Range T.

The boosted sales team based at the firm’s Nottingham HQ, now enable the firm to have greater coverage across the East Midlands. Two of new Sales Executives are dedicated to RHCV’s two sites in Alfreton (Derbyshire) and Cossington (Leicestershire).

Edward Baxter, 21, has joined the family business, previously working in construction and gaining an apprenticeship in multiple trades, he is responsible for light commercial vehicles (LCV) sales.

Neil Kovac will be supporting customers at RHCV’s Alfreton site and has 30 years sales experience, Neil joins RHCV from Brobot. Johnathan Thorpe will be supporting customers at RHCV’s Cossington site; he has 20 years sales experience. RHCV also recruited Sally-anne Bond (not pictured), who joins the team with 20 years’ experience in sales management.

Paul Pearson, Commercial Director at RHCV comments: “Trucks are an essential part of the UK’s economy, anyone that sells a product needs to get it from A to B. Trucks, however, do not sell themselves which is why we have built an excellent sales team to promote our commercial vehicle offering.”

In total RHCV employs 75 staff over three sites. RHCV is an authorised distributor for Renault Trucks and provides new and used sales, service and parts for the full Renault Trucks range as well as all-makes parts and servicing for commercial vehicles.

  3. The Renault Trucks T Voted Truck of the Year 2015

On 23 September 2014, the Renault Trucks T was voted International Truck of the Year 2015 by the International Truck of the Year jury, made up of 25 journalists from the international trade press.  Gianenrico Griffini, the jury’s President, presented the prestigious trophy to Bruno Blin, the President of Renault Trucks, during the 65th edition of the IAA Commercial Vehicle show in Hanover.

Having collected a total of 129 points, 48 points ahead of its nearest rival, the Renault Trucks T carried off the prestigious International Truck of the Year 2015 award. The jury, made up of 25 journalists specialising in commercial vehicles representing 25 international magazines, judged that the Renault Trucks T is the vehicle that has made the largest contribution to road haulage this year.

The International Truck of the Year jury awarded the title to the Renault Trucks T on the basis of several criteria: technological innovations, comfort, safety, on-road performance, fuel savings, the vehicle’s environmental footprint and total cost of ownership (TCO).  The jury highlighted the Renault Trucks T’s qualities, making a particular mention of its state-of-the art aerodynamic solutions as well as the comfort provided for drivers both when at the wheel and when resting.

“The Renault Trucks T combines the qualities of the brand’s previous flagship models with the latest technological innovations in the world of commercial vehicles,” summed up

Gianenrico Griffini, the Truck of the Year (ITOY) Jury President.  “This has resulted in one of the most significant launches in the last few years.”

When presented with the award, Bruno Blin, the President of Renault Trucks stated, “I am delighted to accept this award on behalf of Renault Trucks and would like to share it with all those working in our company and network throughout the world.  This award makes us proud, it will also bring pride to those who purchase our trucks and drive them.”

He added, “One year ago, Renault Trucks entered a whole new era with the launch of an entirely new range.  This award is the best possible way of highlighting the new Renault Trucks identity.  I am certain that recognition of the Renault Trucks T’s qualities by specialist, independent journalists from 25 countries will be a powerful argument for winning over new customers.”

Will Shiers, editor of Commercial Motor and International Truck of the Year jury member for the UK added his thoughts. “The range T really is an excellent truck. It not only looks great, it’s fantastic on the road too. So much thought has gone into the cab design, and it’s one of the most driver-friendly trucks I’ve experienced. The range T is undoubtedly one of the significant new trucks launches of the decade.”

  4. Truck Helps Garden Firm Deliver Summer Sales

Leading national garden machinery distributor Henton and Chattell has had a great summer with the warm weather prompting increased sales across the UK.

To keep its supply chain moving, Henton and Chattell invested £40k in a new delivery vehicle, anticipating the busy summer which saw deliveries and sales grow substantially helping to achieve their highest annual sales.

As part of its commitment to keep Britain gardening, Henton and Chattell bought a new flatbed truck from our Lenton Lane site.

It is the only truck on the site which has a fleet of eight vans, delivering everything from replacement parts to ride-on mowers. As well as its trade arm Henton and Chattell is a premier dealership for John Deerre plus has its own retail showroom ‘MowerWorld’.

The warm summer prompted increased sales of garden machinery across the UK, with consumers spending more money on garden equipment in the first half of 2014 than in the same period last year!

Wayne Hallam, Service Manager at Henton and Chattell, commented: “The investment in our fleet was essential to meet market demand this summer. From our 80,000 square feet of warehouse in London Road, the Logistics Team need to be able to despatch, on demand, any product, to any destination, countrywide, in most cases the ‘next day’ and having trucks we can rely on is a massive part of our service.

  5. a New Gem for Newgem

Coalville based distribution company Newgem have invested £106k in a new Renault heavy construction vehicle in time for their silver anniversary next year.

“Renault’s new range of CK trucks fulfills our needs perfectly – they really have listened to the customer. A lighter tare weight and greater ground clearance make it a much more comfortable ride. Our drivers are also enjoying the larger cab space, another fantastic adaptation.”

RHCV will be supplying them with second CK from the new range in October.

Simon Bailey, Sales Manager at RHCV, said “We’re thrilled to have been working with Newgem for two and a half years, who are such a prestigious Leicester-based firm. Before, they were totally against buying French trucks. But by the end of this year over half of their fleet will be Renault! This really is a testament to the excellent quality of the trucks that customers consistently respond positively to.”
