  1. From Sales Executive to Sales Manager

As part of our ongoing expansion plans at RH Commercial Vehicles, we’ve strengthened our team.

Onwards and upwards for Simon Bailey.

Earlier this year we appointed Simon Bailey, as the team’s first Sales Executive. Having gone from strength to strength Simon has now been promoted to the position of Sales Manager.

Simon’s extensive experience across all areas of the motor industry is one of his many attributes that make him the right man for the job.

He has over 30 years experience in transport and logistics, and started his career as an apprentice motor mechanic and in breakdown and recovery. Simon also has a Class 1 licence and has worked as a UK and continental driver.  Latterly he was Assistant Transport Manager at RH Freight and managed its West Thurrock Hub, which saw 400,000 shipments annually.

Paul Pearson, Director at RHCV commented, “Simon’s unique experience within the vehicle industry is invaluable.  He has worked in every area of commercial vehicles from service and repair to sales and customer liaison.  He has exceptional insight and understands first-hand the challenges which face our customers.

  2. Our Trucks and Vans Come Out Top

    A happy team at RHCV.

In a recent independent audit of Renault Trucks dealers around the country, we’ve come out on top here at RHCV.

The audit was undertaken by the RAC who visited all 57 R1 and D1 – two different categories of dealerships at sites around the country last autumn, these audit results have just been released.  Renault Trucks dealers were scored on several areas, ranging from excellence of customer service to availability of parts and quality of marketing material, site branding and vehicle livery.

Having played a significant role in RHCV’s business for the past 35 years, our newest owners Nigel, Peter and Neville Baxter are all working alongside general manager, Paul Pearson.

We have great teams at both our Leicester and Nottingham sites, and this external assessment confirms it.  We’ve worked hard at building a reputation for outstanding service and support to customers and our aim is to ensure we continue to maintain these highest of standards.

“We continually seek to assess and improve the quality of our network, in all aspects of its operations,” comments Derek Brinklow, Network Development Director at Renault Trucks UK.  “To this end, this independent audit, performed for us by the RAC, provides an important indicator of dealer standards, identifying key strengths and, of course any weaknesses, which we can work with the dealer to address.

“RHCV has been a member of our network for many years,” he continues.  “They have always been focussed on customer service, across their sales and aftermarket operations.  The results of this audit bear this out.”

Over the past few years we’re pleased to say that RHCV have gone from strength to strength through the successful delivery of a very clear sales strategy and a determined management team.  Our approach has provided a steady increase in new and used truck (HGV) sales in a depressed market with huge pent up demand as operators put off capital investment due to the recession.

  3. RHCV Lift Leicester’s Growing Fleet

The newest addition to A to Z’s growing fleet.

Leicester based A to Z Transport Services has invested £150,000 in a brand new Renault truck with a HMF crane (self-off loading vehicle), supplied by us here at RHCV.

This is the first crane vehicle that we’ve delivered as part of our developing offer of more flexible vehicles to meet the changing needs of our customer base across the East Midlands. It can lift up to 11 tonnes, and when extended, the vehicle can lift and carry 30 foot portacabins or containers.

The eight wheel Renault Premium Lander has become the largest in A to Z Transport Services fleet of 12 mainly Renault vehicles.  Established in 1983, A to Z Transport Services is a family run firm that supplies a complete range of road haulage service solutions covering the whole of the UK.

John Dexter, Managing Director from A to Z Transport Services commented:  “Reliability is vital in our business and so investing in new vehicles is important.  Our customers’ need to know we have the capacity to fulfil their changing needs and that our fleet is dependable”.

“This larger size vehicle is essential as we are getting more and more requests to lift larger loads for customers across the UK – for a wide range of products from pumps to furnaces.”

A to Z Transport Services self-offloading vehicles are mainly used for passenger lift, railway, mining, environmental pump, bus shelters, street furniture, engineering electrical sectors.

Our new working venture with A to Z Transport Services is a great step for RHCV, both in the supply of new vehicles and after-service and support for their fleet through our Leicester branch. The combination of Renault and HMF offers flexibility, performance and reliability making it the perfect arrangement.
